Last week it felt like spring, and this week we went back to winter, you have to love the Tennessee Weather. Spring is not quite here yet, but it’s coming soon. You may have noticed more “For Sale” signs in yards in your neighborhoods, more open houses and more moving trucks.
When it comes to searching for a home, there are many options available to buyers today. If buying a home in the next few months is in your future, you may wonder what your options are for wading through the increasing inventory of homes to find the one that’s best for you.
Thankfully, for both Realtors and their clients, we have come a long way from the Multiple Listing books of old. These giant books were similar in size to the holiday toy catalogs of the past and printed with available properties. As you can imagine, they were cumbersome to work with and quickly out of date.
There are still printed options for home searches. Newspapers like the Tennessean even run popular real estate sections with home listings. There are also a variety of home magazines available featuring available properties in certain neighborhoods or parts of the region.
Internet searches are the most popular search option for buyers. Two great websites for you to use are Reatracs.com and Realtor.com.
Realtracs is the Middle Tennessee multiple listing service and their public facing site was recently updated and is easier than ever to use. Realtor.com is a top national website for home searches. It also offers buyers insights on mortgages, moving information and more. As a buyer, you can rely on both sites for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Of course, the best home search source is your Realtor. From print to digital media, home tours and more, your Realtor can provide a series of search avenues for you. Realtors know the market, including properties which may not be listed on the market yet. They can use all the available tools to move you from the search is on to the search is over.
In addition to assisting in the search process, your Realtor will be able to provide additional insight into the area where you are looking to buy and help you expand your home search, thus ensuring you find the best home for you and your family.
